I would support you to exercise as much as you can tolerate. But don't push it. As far the hygene thing? Even if you don't excercise, that point will stink when they take it bad because the skin underneath starts to break down. It is completely normal and happen to everyone with cast. So go ahead and excercise.
The sort is to support your arm and to make it alleviate itself. I would phone a doctor for advice because you might manufacture the injury worse and it will take longer to make well then .
I would'nt exercise so much that I am sweating, but If your body is use to you exercising everyday I would do a short time something so those muscles dont stiffen up.
Exercise is a good perception, just pay attention to protect the arm that is within the cast. If it get hit or something the bones can shift, meaning more time within a cast and have to get it reset. Hygene isn't a factor much, because it'll smell REALLY doomed to failure after a lenghth of time in a classify anyway.
