No, ghosts cannot hurt you. They are spirits and not of this physical world. ghost are not like what you see surrounded by the movies.
Yes, They can scare you to disappearance.

Ex. a spectre scares you and you lunge out a window
The vision of my departed English teacher may come and smack you for not anyone able to spell "ghost". Other than that, I guess you are in the clear!
